The Day-Date was originally designed to be a precious instrument for everyday use. Thanks to a watchmaking prowess that was unprecedented at the time. The Day-Date was the first self-winding, waterproof chronometer wristwatch to display, in addition to the date, the day of the week spelt out in full, in two separate windows. Both change simultaneously at midnight.

The Day-Date is a perfect balance between elegance and technical excellence. Instantly recognizable, its unique design has forged its identity, as the Day-Date is only produced in the precious metals; Yellow Gold, White Gold, Everose Gold and Platinum.

At its launch in 1956, the Day-Date was the only watch with a semi-circular window at 12 o’clock displaying the day of the week spelt out in full. With its specially-designed President bracelet available only in precious metal.

This Day-Date 40 is made out of 18K Yellow Gold and is fitted with a President bracelet which conceals the Crown clasp.The days on the Day-Date are written differently depending on the language. Using most writing systems as Latin, Arabic, Cyrillic, Hebrew, Japanese and Chinese ideograms. This example has an English Day-wheel.

This Rolex Day-Date 40 is in New & Unworn condition and comes with the original Rolex Warranty Card and Box. Furthermore, the watch still has International Rolex Warranty Until July 2031.
